Cover the base coat with a piece of glass membrane fabric. Climb up onto a ladder to access the corrugated panels using caution as you walk on them due to the wavy surface. You can also apply an emergency repair coating to seal the bolt hole. Secure adjoining sheets as well.

Cut the fabric to size with. Cover with fabric and roof cement. You can repair this by replacing the washer and bolt or using a flexible tape or coating to seal the area. Cut a swath of glass membrane fabric to size and cover the base coat with it.

If your ceiling has a plastic vapor barrier between the drywall and the attic insulation push the insulation aside and look for flow stains on the plastic often water runs to openings in the vapor barrier such as at ceiling light fixtures. Walk to one end of the roof and locate the seam where the first row of panels overlap the second row. Make sure you have a metal roofing base coat and apply a uniform layer at least 6 inches in each direction from the spot of the gap. Some roof leaks are tough to locate.

Paste the tape onto the area where the leak is located. Check the joints of a corrugated metal or plastic roof.

Step 2 use a polyurethane sealant and apply it around the boltholes on the underside of the panels and allow to dry.
