Cut the replacement material to size. For example for a frame that s 24 inches wide by 36 inches long cut the lineals to 22 1 2 inches and 34 1 2 inches. To replace a window screen start by popping the screen frame from the window. Make a cut across the roll with sufficient excess to clamp around the edges of the frame while you work.

Use a utility knife to trim the length again leaving 2 inches excess at each end of the frame. Cut each corner of the screen at a 45 degree angle just above the corner of the spline groove in the window frame. Then wedges are driven into the gap between the window frame and the cleat. Reinsert the screen tabs in the bottom of the screen before you press the spline over.

Pry up the screen spline. Then use a screwdriver to pry up and pull out the spline and the old screen. Then follow the channel around the frame rolling the spline in place. Start in one corner and press the spline into the channel on top of the screen with the spline roller.

Trim the screen material make sure the screen material is at least 2 inches wider than the frame. Set the cut screen over the aluminum window frame. This will prevent the screen. Once you ve removed the screen frame from the window lay the frame on a flat surface and roll out enough replacement screen that it covers the entire frame.
